Mark Stoneman

Mark Stoneman

Mark Stoneman is an elegant opening batsman who started his county career with Durham after being selected in England's underage teams. Stoneman made a half-century in his second first-class match in 2007, before making a composed 101 to help his side beat Sussex later that year. His second first-class century was four years later but the left-hander hasn't looked back since. He was eventually rewarded with an England Lions call-up in 2017 after his decision to move from Durham to Surrey. Since arriving at Surrey he has made over 1000 first-class runs at an average of more than 57 with three centuries. Stoneman is the twelfth opening batting partner for Alastair Cook since the retirement of Andrew Strauss.
